Due to the current dry spell and in order to ensure reservoir replenishment and continuity of water supply for peak periods, Irish Water have put in place water restrictions during off peak periods from 2nd June 2016 until further notice.
It is proposed that the areas supplied from the following reservoirs/ distribution watermains will be switched off during the off peak period 10.00pm to 07.00am to facilitate replenishment of the water storage reservoirs for normal day time/ peak supply:
Tievebrack Reservoir - areas affected will be from above Castlederg Road and in the following Townlands - Ballybun; Tievebrack; Belalt; Drumcannon; Meenlougher; Balligonigan; Lisnamulligan; Dungorman; Drummurphy and all surrounding areas serviced from Tievebrack Pumps and Reservoir.
Castlefinn Reservoir - areas affected will be Castlefinn Town and all surrounding areas serviced from Castlefinn Reservoir.
Customers in areas of high ground serviced from the above reservoirs may experience loss of pressure or loss of supply during the off peak periods of these restrictions.
In addition, ALL areas served from the trunk watermain from Meencrumlin to Castlefinn may experience discoloration on resumption of supply.
Water is a precious resource and Irish Water would like to thank the public for their co-operation.
